graffiti jam : july – date being negotiated with site contractors of the new england quarter development site

Visit: http://www.brightonhiphopfestival.org/ and http://www.graphotism.com

After the veritable success of last summer’s graff jam, this year we bring it back in a more highly developed and unified format. BHHF have been invited back by the New England Quarter site contractors to re-design the site and develop new commissions. This will be the first event of its kind in the UK that put BHHF and Brighton & Hove on the international map through specialist media and publications. This year all artists involved will be working on a common theme to create a dynamic new piece of work.
To shed light on the scope of this particular event, participants will include key international artists who will be collaborating with the best artists from across the south east region and throughout the UK. Graphotism Magazine and Montana (Paints Company) will be partnering and part-sponsoring for the first time an event of this scale in the UK, firmly placing the south east and the BHHF back on the International map.

The event will be working in partnership with the local authority and other agencies. The artwork from the 2005 event is still very much in existence and is still photographed, visited and commented on in a positive manner, including TV interviews with Sue Johns, Brighton & Hove City Council Deputy Leader praising the professionalism of the project, Festival and site.

The Brighton Hip Hop Festival does not advocate criminal damage and we are working closely with all agencies to promote Artistic value.
